Summarize your professional background relevant to Age Wave preparedness.

I am an attorney with McGuireWoods LLP with a practice focused on non-profit and charitable advisory services, private wealth services, and trusts and estates.

What expertise or other strengths do you bring to the Older Dominion Partnership?

Experience helping tax-exempt organizations to structure their organizations, develop and maintain good governance practices, pursue charitable missions, build collaborative efforts, and comply with the federal tax laws.

What do you believe are the most pressing issues in Age Wave-preparedness in Virginia today?

Encouraging communities to build awareness of the key issues, involve all kinds of for-profit, non-profit, and governmental entities in the planning process, and prepare today for the necessary changes to health care, transportation, housing, and other areas affecting seniors.

What advice do you have for age wave planning in Virginia?

Reach out to all age groups to recruit their involvement in the planning process.  Boomers have a vested interest in this topic, but the younger generations also need to realize that the age wave will provide numerous opportunities as the health care industry expands its market share of the economy in order to meet the needs of the Boomers.
